Better Me

A mobile-first personal operating system for habits, workouts, nutrition, body metrics and todos, unified by a custom AI insight engine that actually answers cross-domain questions instead of leaving the data in five silos.

The problem

Health and productivity apps each do one thing well and none of them talk to each other. The interesting question — did I sleep well, train hard, eat right and stay consistent, and how do those relate — is unanswerable when the data lives in five silos.

The approach

Built for one user with no SaaS ambitions, which meant the design could optimise purely for daily-driver speed: one-tap habit logging, streak tracking, a 30-day calendar per habit, full todo CRUD with priority and repeat.

The AI layer runs on top of that clean data rather than around it. An async Oban pipeline vectorizes daily logs through OpenAI embeddings into pgvector for similarity search, and a Claude-powered chat interface queries that index to surface real correlations between diet, training and mood. Phoenix Channels handle live exercise logging and biometric syncs in real time.
